New York’s Premier Craft Chocolate Maker, Fruition Chocolate Works, Wins a Silver Sofi Award Leading up to the Summer Fancy Food Show
The Accolade Comes as the Company Expands into Whole Foods Market

Shokan, NY | June 17, 2019 — Fruition Chocolate Works, a celebrated Upstate New York-based, bean-to-bar chocolate company with a dedication to the many shades and purity of chocolate, continues to impress experts worldwide with its most recent Sofi Award, and is poised to introduce its chocolate bars and confections to a wider market at the Summer Fancy Food Show along with distribution in the Northeast’s Whole Foods Markets.

To add to Fruition’s list of awards (including International Chocolate Awards, Academy of Chocolate Awards, and the Good Food Awards), they can now claim a Sofi Award, a top honor in the $140 billion specialty food industry. On May 1, 2019, The Specialty Food Association honored Fruition’s Brown Butter Milk 43% with a Silver metal Sofi Award in the milk and white chocolate category. Through a blind tasting process, the awards — which has been celebrating the best in specialty foods for 47 years — are given to crafters who are “true innovators in their categories.” This honor comes right before the 2019 Summer Fancy Food Show where Fruition will exhibit for the first time. Located in Booth 4824, Hall C on Level 1, visitors to the show will have a chance to sample their line of bars and confections, including the winning bar, their prized Brown Butter Bourbon Caramels, and much more, in addition to meeting Head Chocolate Maker & Co-Founder Bryan Graham. For the timing of Bryan’s appearance, tune into Fruition’s Twitter feed (@TasteFruition).

Moreover, Fruition’s bars can now be found in 21 Whole Foods Markets across the Northeast region, including Westchester, New York City, Long Island, and parts of New Jersey, with select stores carrying their enrobed pistachios and pecans as well. And with the recent opening of their expanded factory, Fruition looks to enter additional Whole Foods stores in New Jersey and Connecticut by the end of the year.

Since opening in 2011, it is clear that Fruition has emerged as one of New York’s eminent craft chocolate makers, or as James Beard Award winning chef, author, and culinary historian Maricel Presilla notes, “a true chocolate star.” Founded by two New York Natives in Shokan, New York with a focus on quality, flavor, and technical precision coupled with their dedication to collaborating with other New York-based crafters, Fruition puts the state on the international craft chocolate map.
