Pavilion Will Showcase 23 Innovative Brazilian Specialty Food Companies

NEW YORK, June 22, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil), along with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE) through the Trade and Investment Promotion Section of the Consulate General of Brazil in New York, announced today that the organizations will sponsor the Brazil Pavilion at the 2017 Summer Fancy Food Show. The annual event, hosted by the Specialty Food Association, is taking place June 25-27, 2017 at the Javits Center in New York, NY.

Brazil is one of the world's leading food producers and the Latin American leader in the organic, health and wellness food market. To support the export of the country's fine products, Apex-Brasil provides mentorship to Brazilian companies looking to globalize their product offerings through strategic investment and industry events. Apex-Brasil identified the Fancy Food Show, the largest and most prominent trade fair for the specialty food and beverage industries in the United States, as an ideal opportunity for Brazilian gourmet food products to be introduced into the U.S. market.

The Brazil Pavilion will feature 23 Brazilian specialty food companies, with product categories including acai, coconut beverages, cheese bread, fruit juices and cachaça. Many of the companies will showcase gourmet products that are currently exclusively available in Brazil.

"Brazil continues to evolve as a technology-focused and environmentally sustainable food producer," said Fernando Spohr, Operations Manager of Apex-Brasil North America. "The 23 companies featured in the Brazil Pavilion demonstrate that the country's gourmet food industry is at the forefront of global health and wellness trends, specifically with the push for organic and gluten-free products."
